Hi BF,

I won this on ebay (cheap). There are no markings at all. The seller is also not aware who the maker is. I was hoping someone at BF will have a little more information as to age, origin, etc...

Thanks in advance!

It looks like a "theater" knife. As in, a knife someone made in a combat zone out of whatever was available, and using a shortened bayonet or or other issued blade. And as a result, the markings are gone (because they were on the end of the blade that was cut off to shorten it).

Or, it could have been made by some guy in his garage ;).

Short of any markings, or other pictures on the internet providing provenance/history, or the identity of the maker, I doubt it will be possible to definitively identify the maker.

Still, it's a cool knife. :)

Thanks Killgar! After reading your explanation, it makes full sense to me now. Yes it does look like a theatre knife or some home made knife. Yes, it looks cool :)

Agree.

It appears nonfunctional, or a showpiece. It doesn't look to have even a partial tang, at least not with any clearly visual support. The design is too lopsided.

Using some sort of Nordic design.
