Alright, I've decided that my next knife is going to be either an ESEE laser strike or a BK 16; I've handled and love both. But, if i get a Becker, I'd feel wrong not customizing the crap out of it, so I've decided that I'd strip it, polish it, add wooden handles, and keep it in a leather sheath. But leather sheaths are expensive, as it turns out...
If anyone can direct me to a somewhere I can get a leather sheath for a BK16 with a horizontal carry option (dedicated horizontal is fine), at roughly the same price (or cheaper, hehe) as a laser strike I will happily join your cult :D

I'll be honest... I hate the laser strike. Buy a 16 and go with Dex, 710, or nix for a sheath. It'll cost what it costs.

Well, to each their own, but I've used the laser strike more than the 16 and I personally like it a lot. Thanks for the reccomendations, I'll look into them!

Wildbill from the ESSE forum (jungle training) can hook you up with leather. He has done a few things from me and they are top notch.

Here is the dangler piggyback he did for me for my 6/izzy

buy the 16

use it

a lot

let it speak to you at least 20 minutes ;)

it amazes me time and again how many people have never used these knives stock, they are modded out of the box.

I don't do horizontal carry, but you definitely NEED a BK16!

The thing is just so much prettier than a laser strike! I'll get it and just get the sheath later; the stock one isn't that bad. Sadly, university regulations say that I can't have anything longer than 4" in a dorm, so it'll spend lot of time in my truck. Which, on the plus side means I'll get to use out stock for a while like Bladite recommended.

Get both. Just kidding, it had to be said.

I like the Laser Strike, the choil just takes some getting used to. I love the 16 with micarta though.
