Hello All,

Just wanted to start a thread welcoming people who have already received and used their Silent Knights to see how it performs across different applications. Even more interested in the feedback from those with one without a blade catch. Thank you & Cheers!

Best,

Rob

Sorry Mods, wrong forum — could you please move to Busse Combat forum. Thank you!

While we are at it (getting things fixed), would you be so kind as to change the hosting service for your sig pic? That large white photocrutchit pay us 500 pic is not very fun to look at. They certainly are not supporting your wishes here, so you might return the favor. ;)

As per the topic, I have not used my SK yet, but it just arrived yesterday while I was out of town. It does feel very nice in my hand though and is just under 19 oz, so once the rain stops I may give it a go.

Purchased SK's as safe queens but when I picked it up I could not believe how light and lively it was. I chose the non blade catch as my user. I put a 21 degree bevel on it. Took two hours with the 100 grit WE on the recurve to get it the way I wanted. I have not batoned any wood with it but have chopped and used it for slicing. It has become my favorite "big knife." It is very easy to maintain on the WE, but will take some getting used to with a small stone in the field (First recurve blade).I will be taking it to the Boundary Waters in May and will give a more detailed report, but it has exceeded my expectations.

My SK CF arrived shaving sharp. It's a long strong blade that would slice open pray with ease

Silent Knight has been working hard molding leather sheaths. The comp finish has actually held up very well to the wet molding process which can be quite hard on an uncoated finish. Very comfortable in the hand and looking forward to putting it to the test soon.

Pretty nice user. As I suspected, it is an update to the Special Forces handle from the SFNO, NMSFNO and Razors. The scales are almost a standard thickness, but not quite and far from being magnums. Nice to see skinny scales on this one. On top of the tube fastener holes being out of alignment from the previous SF scales, they are narrow from top to bottom by a noticeable amount that actually feels like an improvement to me. Great stuff! The machining lines on mine all run parallel to the blank length, so I must say I got lucky on this one. There is a little bit of an INFI smegma spot (decarb) near the rear of the handle on the left side, but I will clean that up myself as time allows. For a user, I am not super worried about it. ;)

As for using it, the balance is great, it does not weigh in very heavy for it's size and yet it still packs a decent punch when put to work on some wood, even though it is definitely designed as a fighter! While it's no res-c lightweight, it is no slouch either! :D If it can chop through 2-3" of Douglas Fir, it can certainly get through softer targets! "This knife, will keel!"

Even my 4 year old SuperAssassin likes it! :p

Great score I've wanted for the better part of a decade, and with this handle, it was worth it!
