If you have looked I posted a topic on budget butterfly knives, and some of the results were not very promising. But one person commented and said please check your email I might be able to help you out, so I thought it would just be someone trying to sell me a balisong, but I could not have been more wrong. It was from link2derek, he said he has some $20-$30 balisongs that he does not use and would like them to be used by somebody, so after we sent a few emails back and fourth and the next day he shipped them free of charge with two day priority shipping. And when I reseaved the package about ten minutes ago not only were there two very nice balisongs, he also sent me a nice paracord lanyard with beads for the cord. This has made me regain faith in people, especially faith in blade forum members. I can not express my gratitude more towards derek and think he should be rewarded. This is a quick picture of what I reseaved today.

Awesome. I love hearing stuff like this. Lets face it we all here can get nadty with each other. Bit i look at it like family. Family fights happen. But at the end of the day the forum has a lot of big hearts.

Look at the amount of giveaways done. I've done a giveaway myself, and won one. I won an ESEE Zancudo, which I actually gave as a graduation gift to a friends son. The knife I gave away was a SOG Trident Tanto, nothing special but its a cool knife.

I see all the time people throw in free stuff with purchases on the exchange. I think it is an absolutely wonderful community.

Derek is a great guy, such generosity from him does not surprise me in the least! I am glad you shared your experience. I have been on both ends of the generosity here and whether I am giving or receiving I get the same warm & fuzzies!!!

That is great! Really generous on his part. We have some very generous members on the forum that have done so much to help others without even being asked. I think link2derek has the right idea. The GAW's are great (I've done one myself, so don't get me wrong) but sometimes the gift can be much more beneficial if you wait until you find a member you know could make the best use of it.
I would like get some balisongs and learn the techniques that can be done with them, but I'm waiting until I can get a decent quality one and possibly a good trainer balisong. I bought one a several years ago and you constantly have to tighten up the screws in it. It would probably be a good idea for me to start visiting the balisong subforum and learning what I can for the time being.
I can't see the pic right now, you may want to check that out. I would really like to see your new Butterfly.:)

Your very welcome, bigmack. It was my pleasure helping you out, and that's all the reward I need.

Enjoy the knives! But be careful - they're sharp!

Cheers,

Derek...

Well, let's be honest. It's Link2Derek, who's surprised by this? The guy has always been a seemingly stand-up guy, and a real contributing member of this place. This sort of feedback doesn't surprise me at all.

Good on you Derek
thanks for sharing.
makes me feel like I need to do a gaw.

Very generous.

Nicely done, Derek! You're one classy hombre, sir...:cool:

Enjoy your knives, bigmac127! :)
