Please recommend a knife

It's time to buy a new knife, so I'm hoping for some suggestions. I'd like to try a recurved blade this time. The last two knives I've carried were a Spyderco Endura and a Kershaw Leek. Both these knives have an agressive point, and I'm starting to get tired of that. I think that a lot of the cutting that I do on a daily basis would benifit from a knife with more belly. I have an Opinel that I carried for years, but lately I prefer one-hand openers.

Also, I prefer a knife with a thin blade. I feel that my Endura's blade is too thick compared to my Leek and Opinel.

So, here are my specs:

- Recurved blade with lots of belly
- Thin blade
- Fast one-hand opening
- Costs around $100

Suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Sounds like a Benchmade 710 to me. They are very nice, I almost got one but opted for a Spyderco Military instead.

Chris.

None of those CS blades are recurves.

The Benchmade 710 is a great knife. The 705 is the smaller edition. The Camillus EDC is an excellent small but deep hollow ground recurve.

The Benchmade 710 and Camillus EDC look like what I have in mind. Have you got any more good options for me?

I forgot to specify my size. I'm not too picky. Between 3 and 4 inches should be fine.

The old Cold Steel El Lobo is now called the Medium Vaquero. It would really fit your description: deep recurve, thin blade, razor sharp. Unfortunately, it now only comes with the tiny CS serrations. I have a plain edge version, which is much better in this small 3" blade size.

You REALLY don't need to look any further than a Benchmade 710...Trust me on this.:).

The 710 is a great knife. I really can't think of many other comparable recurved blades in that price range.

Well, sometimes I read enough of the post, and sometimes I don't. I didn't see the "recurve" part.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

Check out the Kershaw Boa. It may be the best recurve blade shape currently available in production. And it's a very nice knife otherwise too. :)

My second choice would be the Benchmade 710.

A good choice would be a Camillus EDC. 3' recurve, 154CM blade great qc, outstanding design, under 75 bucks.

The Benchmade 710 will be hard to top if you want a recurve.

Also check out the Kershaw/Ken Onion Boa and the Kershaw/Ken Onion Bump, if you don't mind liner-locks.

Of course the 710 has the awesome Axis-lock!

Good luck,
Allen.
