Please recommend an easy to use sharpener..you know, the pull the blade thru kind.
It would be nice if it would work on softer to very hard blades.

You're just waiting for the masses to tell you to get the Spyderco Sharpmaker 204.
It comes with an instructional video and I'm ordering it anyways ;)
 
Go for the Sharpmaker, you won't be dissapointed. As long as you don't need to reprofile any edges the setup as it comes will be all you need. And now, as an added bonus if you find it necessary to remove a lot of metal you can buy the diamond rods. HTH.
 
Spyderco Sharpmaker 204!!!!

It comes with an instructional video and book, so even a novice can be sharpening like a pro in no time. :D ;) :D Don't worry about the cost, it is well worth it.
