Well guys....I went to the doc today (not a very fun birthday) for a follow up appointment (I was hospitalized again last week for chrones disease). They are very concerned that I might have the big C!:( Now I have to get another colonoscopy/biopsy on Thursday. They also saw a problem with my liver enzymes when they did blood work. I will keep all of you posted. Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Greg

Prayers sent your way, my friend. We have a lot in common: Crohn's disease (my last hospital stay in March was to remove 7" of small intestines), both went to MSU, and we are of Dutch lineage. Maybe we were separated at birth. :D

Seriously, hope all works out well. If you have Crohn's, I'm sure they've been doing regular colonoscopies and biopsies, so the early detection factor is definitely in your favor.

I hope you get past this OK and like Mark says, stay with that regular testing for early detection.

Prayers sent your way Greg, and yours too Mark.

I almost lost my life due to infection from chron's in 01. It was eatting me up from the inside, with only a small puss pocket on the surface. Like an iceburg the worst part was inside of me. I spent the whole summer in the hospital, lost several feet of small bowel and half my large bowel and was forced into taking early retirement afterwards.

All one can do is fight it back and deal with it. Everyone is different, you will have to find out what works for you in terms of diet. Find a diet that works and try to stick to it. I do alot of BBQing to reduce grease in my diet and avoid the frying pan.

Your doc will try out different medications. Some of them are awful like the Cipro while others are easier.

PM me if you want, but I will be away from the computer- out to the cabin. Yes there is life with Chron's disease. Everything takes longer to do, but I can still carry a knife on the belt, and hunt and fish like I used to. Life carrys on despite the flare ups, sleepless nights, pain and the lousy fevers.. etc.. because with the bad, come the good days too.

And the good days are sweet for these are the fruits of sufferage.

whew!

All three of you guys have prayers coming from San Diego.
