I realize that prices are subjective, but it's really nice to see what hard to find or discontinued knives are selling for.

I would like to know what people are willing to pay for certain knives, have an idea for what to price them at keeping in mind shipping and paypal fees, and hopefully at least break even.

I don't understand why everyone deletes the prices of everything they had up for sale as soon as their sold.

It goes without saying that things are worth whatever people are willing to pay for them, but wouldn't it be nice to have a reference right here on the forum?

Obviously you guys can do whatever you want in your sale threads. I'm personally going to keep the prices of knives that I sell in the exchange there so that others can reference them. I encourage all of you to do the same.

Moved to Tech Support.
General Knives is for discussion of knives, not what people do with their prices in the Exchange. That topic is a horse beaten long ago and it's ghost is long gone. Sellers can do what they want with prices. You can quote the original sales thread if you like, so a record can be kept, short of that there is not much that can be done.

Ben, quite frankly, items are worth whatever you can sell them for. The last thing a seller wants to be told, after listing a price that he thinks is fair, is "Well, I saw this knife go for sale a few weeks ago for this other price, so I'd sure like to buy your knife at that other guy's price instead of the one you're asking." If you wanted to pay that price for that particular knife, you should have done so at that time.

So, I for one will continue to remove prices after I sell items in the Exchange. As you can see from my feedback, I have plenty of positive selling experiences, so doing so hasn't affected my sales.

Have a good day.

It does suck, sure, but there are other sources of prices and simple searches, especially for common items (like the ones you were asking about earlier) are easy to find. Can't find a used price? Take the new price and take away a little bit in line with condition. It's certainly far harder with rare stuff, but there are still ways.

Do your own footwork, basically. If you want to sell something, it's your problem to do all the research by every avenue possible in order that you and your buyer get the fairest deal.
