I recently got this Emerson P-Sark in trade, I don't really know anything about it. Is this a custom piece? What are the Handles made out of? I traded some pretty pricey stuff for it, it may have been foolish but it is just too cool to pass up. I tried looking around online and I can't find anything similar to it.
Any Help would be appreciated,
Thanks

It was customized by another knifemaker. Those that have done scales, bolsters, and framelocks (and such) up to date include ferrrk, Nathawut, The Sun, and STR. I wouldn't know enough to identify who did that psark, just by looking at it.

Emerson has a subforum here.
You may get a faster answer if you post there or ask a mod to move this thread.

Better to ask us to move it than to create a duplicate thread. I merged both of them here.

Looks like a Reese Weiland pimpage

Yeh, I dont think its a ferrrked piece, he almost always re-does the back spacer. Hard to tell about the handles from the pics, could be giraffe bone?

Thanks for all the replies, would love to know something definitive about this piece, any Idea where to look?

The P sark is a regular production model. Mr. Emerson recently posted thread about how and what it was designed for. The knife you have is a production knife that has been modified by someone. As to who modified it, I can't help you there.

I've seen pictures of this very knife before. I'm almost certain Reese Weiland was the one who did it.

Cheers and Regards,
Nick

I just got this reply from Reese Weiland, great guy, fast reply, even on a Sunday, will most likely be getting in touch with about an order

I'm not absolutely certain but I don’t think I did that one.* I usually put separate handle screws in mine and hide the spine screws under the handle. I also generally replace the spine itself with aluminum.* The handle appears to be giraffe bone.* Below will give you an idea what I mean about the handle screws

It looks like you can still order it from your link. I put it into a shopping cart. That makes me a little Leery of it being a fake? It is no doubt a pimp job so I would say no Emerson warranty?

It's just a poorly updated website, It was from the store.
What do you mean by a fake?

Well, I should have said it is not a Specwar custom. But as others have said it is a pimped production. The website is what freaked me out a little, I just wonder if I could order another one just like yours.

Its not one of mine. I only did two with bolsters because I hate bolsters and feel they are just added weight you don't need on an already big knife. I would have replaced the lock as well had I done it.
STR

Thanks,
Hopefully the maker or someone with a similar knife will chime in. I really like th feel if the knife, I'm just alrehensive about using it without knowing the value or anything really, but I think this will become a user.

I don't thunk you can. The store mainly sells custom fixed blades. And they just carry folders to have a well stocked store. But the fixed blades are there real specialty, and last time I went in there, they didn't have anymore.
