Please tell me how to buy a Survive! knife

After using a cheap (but very functional) Condor for camping / bushcraft for a while, I ready to invest in a new fixed blade knife. I have done a ton of online research, I and have pretty much decided that I want a Survive! knife. If the GSO 5 or 4.7 were available and shipping today, I would have already hit the “buy it now” button. Obviously, that is not the case. I am not even sure if the GSO 5 is still being made, let alone where I might find one.

So, my questions for the folks here is where can I find a GSO-5? If these are not being produced, where can I find a GSO 5.1?

More general, how do you find out when knives are available on the website? Facebook? Is production still ongoing or is it paused until the “starter” knives get produced?

Sorry for all the questions, but I am just trying to understand what my options are at this point. From everything I see, Survive! is making a great product and I am looking forward to owning one!
 
It's going to be awhile before the 4.7's come out. If I understood correctly, Guy is going to release one final batch of 5's. As far as I know 5.1's will still be made.

The best way to keep up is to follow along via the newsletter and Facebook.

If you want to try and snag one of the previously available models, I'd keep an eye out in the classifieds and on EBay.
 
Like the helpful poster above me said, you're best bet is Ebay or the classifieds. Be careful of knife flippers, unless you don't mind paying a hefty mark up for a knife. Survive production can't keep up with demand, so on the rare occasion they have something in stock it sells out in hours or less. They're great knives in high quality steel, amazing ergonomics and can withstand any abuse you can throw at them. Guy made something special here, so it's no surprise how hard it is to get your hands on one. That said, stalk the forums for a few days and the chances are high you'll snag a good deal.

The fourth and least reliable option is to pay attention here. I sometimes give an advanced warning to the BF crowd. But that usually depends on how scatter-brained I am that day. :/

The GSO-5 will be available in about a month or 2, as soon as we have all the materials for them. As mentioned, you may be able to snag one on the secondary market if you keep your eyes open. It does seem like there has been an uptick in the amount of preowned GSOs for sale lately.
 
Thanks for all the tips! I am going to keep an eye on the forum exchange, but hope to snag a new one in a month... or two... or whenever.

On a side note, it is great to see a small company making a great product and getting rewarded in the marketplace. I look forward to seeing Survive! continue to grow and crank out great knives!

I just did!!!

I ordered a cpm-20cv with brown handles and a FDE sheath. I am so stoked! This will be my first Survive! knife, buy I am pretty sure not my last!
