Thanks. I'll let you know what I think of it when it arrives. Also, now that I know about the HI chitlange, I might pick one up if I'm not happy with the one from EBAY.

IIRC, they used to be the largest arun in Nepal. Maybe still are. However HI recently was honored by the Nepali government officially recognising HI as the largest khuk exporter in Nepal today.

Can't speak to their ( Khukrie House ) quality. Hell, UB and Yangdu sometimes let some khuks get through that shouldn't. And HI's kamis are way more motivated.

I had a biltong from KH and it was very nice.
No guarantees, of course, but a good knife for the money.
I wouldnt worry about it.
Just make sure that your next Khukuri is an HI !

You will better be able to judge the quality when your Khukuri arrives. Do you have one of the HI khuks to compare?

Please let me know what you gentlement think.

Thanks.

Looks like a NKH (Nepalese Khukuri House) blade. I have two of them. The stands are pretty junky, but the knives are not bad, although you are lucky to get it from a US supplier as the normal S&H is brutal. They experiment with a lot of handle types and blade styles and scabbard types. They are not up to HI durability, but few are, and they seem to be good quality overall.

They have a shop in downtown Kathmandu that caters to tourists, so lots of engraving and inlays and other bells and whistles. They had a nice brass handled AK that was a good size, but wanted about $250 for it with S&H so I declined. Bought 3 nice HI khuks instead! :)

Regards,

Norm
