This knife is basically everything I have been searching for... Check the above link for images and have a look at how beefy the liner lock is. I bet you can even baton with it, no problems at all... The downer is it comes at a cost. Designer is listing the blade at around $364.00 U.S. plus the cost of shipping overseas, and zero sheath included... Anyone else share in my frustration?? :barf::grumpy::eek::(

It looks an excellent knife ... Might well be my next one ....:)

A comfortable substantial folder like that would be very useful for me ....

LOL .... he just lives down the road from me too ... :D Might pop in for a cup of tea and check these out ....

His prices are actually reasonable for what you are getting .... certainly for over here ... and Stateside too if you compare these to some of the custom folder makers ....

Wow! That really is a sweet design.

I would love to see one with micarta handles.

it would be great... if it's had a spear point I hate recurv blade's. But other then the. Blade shape it looks very nice, and I've been looking for a bushcraft folder.

Use a strop! Or a Spyderco ceramic rod!

I can sorta see how a hanging strop might work. I still can't see how a ceramic rod would work. I know a ceramic rod can work with most recurve blades, but it's only going to come in contact with a very edge of the blade—and not the wide flat bevel.

The one negative thing about scandi blades is that you need to remove a whole lot of steel if you nick the edge. I sure wouldn't want to try and remove a nick with a ceramic rod.

I think he makes a non-recurve one too. I've talked to him on other forums about all sorts of stuff, including this folder. I love it to death, I need to order one at some point gosh darnit.

I would even live with it as a recurve. If there was a scandi version more traditional, I would prefer it though. I'm sure it's a wonderful design, I am just not at the point to spend nearly $400.00 on a knife. If I had a $400.00 knife, it would never see a piece of wood, I would just rub it with a diaper and then put it back into it's temperature and humidity controlled vault. Doesn't anyone make a decent priced, decently designed scandi folder that one of us blokes is thrilled with? I asked about the EnZo but nobody seems to have one...

Thanks for the link... have another open post for the same knife (EnZo Birk folder). Still looking for somebody who owns one or has used one... not thrilled about the exposed liners, read some reviews where the main complaint is the hot spots created because of this, and just general lack of comfort with extended use...

Did you see my link above the last one I posted in post #10?

What a crock stick contacts is strictly a function of the angle at which it is held in relationship to the blade. No reason you cannot sharpen a recurved Scandi - whatever you mean by that. (Not being persnickty. Most "Scandi" knives come brand new with a secondary bevel. Scandinavian makers have tried to point this out, but the legend of the "Scandi grind" overcomes facts.)

Bernie made me his Bushcraft Folder a few months back, and I love it. Feels great in the hand, has a wonderful look to it. Can't really describe why, but sharpening on a normal wet stone was no problem at all even with the recurve. I also got the new Enzo Folder in D-2 around the same time. It's funny, but I don't really like the looks or hand feel of the Enzo Folder, but I think the blade holds a better edge (like my beloved Enzo Trapper!!!, that I'm not allowed to bring on my son's Boys Scout camping trips:grumpy:.

The Enzo Folder cuts wonderfully, and takes a great, long lasting edge, and is slim in the pocket.

The Bernie Garland Bushcraft Folder feels and looks AWESOME, and cuts well. Just haven't spent the time with sharpening to where I'd like it. A bit bulkier, and a bit heavy, but I don't think it would have any trouble holding up to heavy work, even batoning. I must say that it was a bit expensive, but it was SO much fun to have a knife custom (sort of ) made for me. I picked out the wood, and specified that I wanted him to leave the spine a crisp 90 sqare to help with a firesteel. Bernie emailed pictures along the way. Really a great experience. I would highly recommend the knife, and dealing with Bernie--a real professional and gentleman. William

Aaaahhhh. For some reason didn't see it. Will have to check it out tomorrow. Thanks hollowdweller!! This might be what I'm looking for... I'd still like to know if there is space between the liners and the blade at the pivot point for the EnZo. It really looks like there is in pictures but I have no idea why. Normally the liners (or scales if the knife is made without liners) are absolutely flush with the blade itself all the way through the handle as well as at the pivot point. I don't get it. Although seems like a great knife...
