Done. Going to its new home tomorrow. It's my best work to date.

I agree that it's your best so far, well done my man.

Traditional and very you.

That's passes the traditional muster for me, CM. Great looking knife too!

Lovely knife, always a pleasure to see your work

Idk if it's traditional, I still am not 100% on what is and isn't, but it sure looks like a great knife. R
Reminds me of a roach belly kind of.

Definitely has a resemblance to a Mediterranean dirk, or some of the knives of the Caucus region. I could see it on the belt of some Turkish horsemen a few centuries ago.

Ground freehand on a 1/3hp 1x42.

Only thing I can think of that would be somewhat non-traditional would be he chisel grind. Anyways, it looks great Matt. Your work has been steadily improving. Is the top edge sharpened? Did you do the sheath too? I like the ray skin.

Thanks!

Top edge is sharpened. Sheath was hand stitched by me.

I'm with Phil, I don't see the chisel grind as traditional, don't think I've ever seen it on a factory knife.

Congrats on the beautiful job, the handle looks especially comfy.

It looks beautiful, that's a major qualification for a Traditional knife:thumbup:

Mass of quality all over, fine finish.

The only thing is, you need to send your work to me for closer scrutiny & ratification:D

"He came, he asked, he conquered"

Regards, Will

Wow, Very nice work CM. Proud to see you progressing so well.

Looks great, Matt.

Edited to add:
And it passes my filters as "Traditional".

Nice work on the chisel grind! I also love the ray skin sheath, we don't see enough of those:thumbup:
