Please? the definitive story on BG42 v others

Hi each
I know there is a lot in the archives, but where does the discussion end. I have a BG42 sebenza and it apears to be the Terriers Twitcher. In straight talk what are the alternatives and where do they rank in comparison.

In blade steels it seems that everything's a trade off. CRK used to use ATS-34 (like on the one I have) but switched to BG-42 for reason including increased corosion resistance. I'm not sure there's really a "ranking" to blade steels. Many people knock 440C because it is cheap, but if I'm not mistaken that is what Ken Onion primarily uses. My feeling is there is a lot of science behind the metalury, but it often boils down to marketing and customer perception.
