Just got my Vantage Force Pro and Avid in a few days ago and am very pleased. Love my csars for rough use and as an urban survival type folder, love my Buck striders for more dedicated tatical/defensive use and my vantages are always part of my edc...they just do it all pretty well.

These vantage forces have the same ergonomics i love in my others but add a bit more heft like my striders and the more aggressive handle texture of my csars. Neither of the Forces seem to open as qucikly as the other vantages but lock solid and blades well centered. Imagine the handle will chew through pockets other then jeans fairly quick but thats a fair trade off for me.

Will keep my vantage pros for work/church slacks, force pro for jeans, striders in my bags and the csars lashed to my pack straps.

Love the entire vantage (and paradigm) line so much considering buying a mayo thats available since it looks like the blade shape the other vantages came from even though i'm tapped out of knife funds for the month (especially the last couple weeks!)

I feel similar to the way you do about the Vantage and Paradigm line. While I don't have a knife from every level (select, avid, pro etc), I do have at least one each of the Vantage, Vantage Force, and Paradigm lines because I love the design. Like you, I considered buying a Buck Mayo because when I read early reviews of the Vantage, it kept getting compared to the Buck/Mayo TNT, and the blade shape does look like it served as the inspiration for the Vantage.

I ended up picking up a TNT, and boy is it a nice knife. The blasted Ti handles have a nice grippy texture and a great looking dark finish, contrasting nicely with the cleanly ground blade. I reserve that knife for formal occasions.

My stock, unmodified Avid knives from the Vantage lineup and its relatives, the Paradigm and TNT

Nice comparison pic Gundi. I think I'll slip my TNT into my pocket for the day.

Like that pic!! The mayo i'm considering is the 171 (havent come qcross a 172) that is a bit smaller (similar to the small vantage in size) then i prefer but sounds like all the mayos are getting harder to find...almost as hard as the funds to pay for em!!
