Plexiglass, is it dangerous to grind?

Hi Guys,
I am aware that most materials are harmful if we inhale the fumes and dust.

Someone advised me to practice my grinds on plexiglass, the transparent type and this way I could see exactly what is happening on the "business side" where the belt is removing the material.
Sounds like a good idea.
I know it will get gummy if it gets too hot but I was wondering more about the dust and fumes.
Any opinions? I will of course be wearing a mask.
Thanks,

Mike

Plexiglass ? It's best to go by the chemical name then you can look up the MSDS sheets .I think Plexiglass is acrylic.

I do not know the chemical name Mete.
I also know this stuff as perspex. Same thing?:o

Thanks for the reply anyhow.

Mike
