I bought a CAK a while ago, cause it's awesome.
Now I find myself browsing the forums and dotd for a sirupati, 18" it around, cause they are sexy!
But I need pix. In hand, out of hand, in action. You got it, post it!

30" Siru by Sher

Dang it, I want a 30" siru now. I got a 25. Maybe I better wish for a 40", get ahead of the curve so to speak. Might have to glue two triangle boxes together to handle that.

Ill dig around in the dog house and see what i got.

Oh and an action shot:D She was just opening up a can of beans:rolleyes:. I thought she was about to open up a can of something else.

I still think that thing would look better in my collection phillllll:D

Gehazi - that last one, by "KamiwhoIforgotbutonlymadelike2knives" :D, That was Kumar, a new Kumar not the old one we know and love, and I think he may have made like 5 or so before leaving HI. I also have a villager by him.

Ndoghouse, last pic...I'd do the dishes, no questions asked...and fast!
Yes sir I did! Anything else she wanted too:thumbup:

Purna 18" Siru Gehazi! C'mon It took you this long to come clean;) That was a nice one. Chiruwa at that. I passed up the very first Purna posted and regret it sometimes but one of the family here got it so I dont feel too too bad. Think it was gb? I still dont have a bull in my collection. A Purna 30" Teardrop Lambenth would be perfect.

lol I feel sorry for purna on that note-- his is definitely the most complex mark I think , and punch dot or not purna is worth getting at least one example of !

and on the teardrop lambenth, would be a perfect job for purna, all I can say is when the shop gets going again there are going to be a load of very special knives coming along :D

An 18 inch Shop 1 sirupate - one of very few they ever made in that size.

Uncle Bill was trying to standardize the product line, and sirupates were supposed to come in 12, 15 and 20 inch sizes.

Some unknown but very talented kami rebelled, and made this one as an 18 incher - with a nicely fullered blade, and butt caps on the K&C, all non-standard touches. Uncle Bill emailed and said he had one oddball he wanted to get rid of that he thought I would like. As usual, he was right.:D

they are both big blades, I always say do more when you are in doubt -- 20!!

Myself, I'd go the 18" and be happy. Unless your just a plumb big ole boy, anything more becomes a real chore to swing.
If your mostly after a wall hanger, then all bets are off, go big or stay on the porch.

If you have bushwhacking to do 20" is fast and fun. If your more apt to use it as fighter or need to pack it and or conceal it then 18". The extra reach is really nice on the back if you can manage it. My 25" is a regular user for me but i only have to pack it out the front door.

Thats a nice grind JW:thumbup:

I'd like to adjust my thinking, for some reason I was thinking AK or CAK. A siru is very light and a 20 would be no issue for nearly anybody.

I too have a 25 and could run it all day just fine. On a good day of course.

I cant believe I don't own a Sirupati yet. I have almost every other model except for a Siru... I have a Manakamana Special that looks like a sirupati. I think I need to get myself one of those sexy beasts. Im thinking a 20 in model would be perfect.
