I've made eight knives since my first in December. Enjoying steady improvement and working with new handle materials. G10, Paper micarta, walnut, stabilized box elder burl. Have improved the fit of my guards so my silver soldering has improved as well. And a surprise improvement in my sharpening results too. Spent a good deal of time searching the forums instead of posting.

Currently have a lovely desert ironwood burl block to go with a heavy 10" damascus bowie blank. Will fashion and fit the guard first then move onto the handle and spacers - black fiber and brass. The sheath will have to be a partial clam style since the blade widens toward the tip.

So just a thanks to all here who have shared their work and expertise.

Hope you'll post pictures. It may seem intimidating with so many 'beauty queens' featured on this forum. But never mind that. You've taken a big step and should be proud. I will admit to occasionally suffering visual fatigue from so many 'gorgeous' knives and find myself interested in checking out posts like yours.
