I bought a plumb axe today ,has Plumb in rectangle , but can't find the weight marking. weighs 5-1/2 has an extremely thin handle about 28" ,I think head would weigh 5lb, but can't find weight marking, my other Plumbs just above the word plumb. What am I missing or were some not marked?

probably 4.5 lb head. handle would have to be pretty tiny to be less than a pound. I've got some really nice old slim handles, but none of them weigh as little as a half pound. Usually around a pound for a 28" handle.

The weight stamp can be about anywhere on the head. Some old true temper axes would have the weight stamp right on the poll so the stamp would quickly get destryoed when people beat on the poll with a hammer.

Try using postimage picture hosting site and post up a few pictures here for us.
Weight stamp could be below the plumb stamp, possible on the shoulder too.

The handle length is right where i like them.
Sounds nice
