  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Plumb BSA info

If I recall there are informative posts about these implements to be found within this forum on previous entries. Poke around in the archives for awhile. Myself know nothing about Boy Scout Axes but suspect that there are plenty of them still around.

Best I can tell from your pictures, its a # 1274 sold by BSA 1983-1999, but you have not included a picture of the entire axe.

Appraisals are against forum rules for free members like us.

The top of the handle should come up in the eye level with the top of the head. Yours may have a replacement handle that does not fit or may be missing the plastic Perma-Bond material that bonded the handle to the head.

I'd fix it up and use it. Plumb made good axes.

Collector status is for those in good condition, without the pole peened over, as is the result of common misuse as a hammer.
