So as I continue to tinker in the world of axes, had some refurbs I thought I would share - This one is of a Plumb DB I had lying around since last winter and forgot about, but pleasently found. So I worked it over this past weekend. Pic heavy, so be ready. Included are the tools used, and some crappy side show commentary to go along....enjoy.

So had to cut off the handle - it was not salvagable.

Still have haft in the eye, so better get after that - always a challenge - some easier than others - this one was ok - but did require some tools -

Now time to see whats under the dress - but have to change out my head here as you can see

To do that, I have to call in the Big Azz Channelocks - my favorite pair - normal pair beside it -

New head should do the trick -

All things considered it came out really well I thought - took some time, but most things do if you do them right.

Thanks!

Nice refurb. Thanks for including all the pics of the tools, it's helpful to see what people are using.

Always fun to see these how to threads. Did I see a bud light in one of those photos? Probably holding some BLO for some handle work no doubt ;). Plumb have become my favorite brand, the lines on their tools is just sexy, there I said it :D

Yes you did see a Bud Light in one of those pics. I always have one handy for proper lubrication if needed, though not like I used to, which is a good thing.

No one has asked about my trailer pin in the picture - I have found that to be the best tool for removing hafts from heads......just tried it one day and it works great!

I actually was going to comment on that, but forgot. I was thinking that you might have robbed that off the plow blade of your tractor.
