I found this the other week in a flea market, it spoke to me and I had to bring it home.

Plumb, and I think the handle may be original...but I dont know. If anyone has any age/era info or anything I would be happy to know it.

I really like it, the looks, the weight, the balance. It's gonna be a mainstay in my woods-kit I think.

that is a beautiful old plumb... i would have bought that too!

Was 16$. I didnt hesitate a second.

He had a old Kelly double-bit too, but the bits were both round (-) like that instead of with points. I guess many years of sharpening. He had about 15 axes but the others were unmarked or in pretty bad shape. I may go back for the Kelly, I think it was 18$-20$

Great hatchet.

Plumb liked to round off the swell on their hatchet handles like that. Mine looks similar. Others I've seen online look like that, too. Not that someone re-handling it couldn't duplicate it. But why would they bother?

In any case the haft looks very sturdy and has a good grain.

That is nice, the head has a very pleasing shape.
Looks in really good nick.

Great find.

Thanks, it has a great feel to it. I aint sure what the weight is, I would guesstimate 1-11/2 pounds maybe? The handle is very secure, rock solid on the head. I wish the previous owner hadn't drilled a lanyard hole, or at least had put it in a location that made sense!

Anyone have any idea of what era it's from?
