I've been frequenting this subforum for a little over a year and it hasnt been uncommon to see acts of generosity from a number of forumites through contests, giveaways or just plain old giving of gifts. It's a pleasure to see it happening. It recently has become more of a pleasure as Plum saw that I wrote that my daughter really liked the 444 I just got that completed that series collection for me. I wouldnt give her mine, but he PM'd me that he had one and would like to give it to her if it was ok with me. I of course was ok with it so he sent a package. When we recieved the package and opened it I found an unused gray 444 which Kaylee was just surprised and ecstatic to receive. I also found a note indicating Dave had noticed I wrote on a thread that I didnt have any brown 110 sheaths so he sent me one(stuffed with a beautiful N/S 110 also brand new. And if that wasnt enough, because of his giving spirit he didnt want my wife to be left out and sent a sweet little brushed steel frame, mirror polish bladed 525 .What a great surprise and a generous man. I just wanted to publicly thank him for a great family gift.

THANKS PLUM:thumbup::D:D

oh here they are:

This type of gesture is exactly why this is the only forum that I participate in. I like Buck knives, the christian atmosphere that Chuck adheres to, and the company principals. I especially like the feeling when reading some of the threads and posts, all a family type atmosphere, kinda a brotherhood here. Thanks for letting me be a part of it.

Very cool... You are right, there are some terrific people on here.

I've said it quite a few times, "Its more about the people than the knives"

Bucksforus, Your welcome and your a plus for us as well .
Imafritz, I'll chime with you on this . Another person that frequents this forum who has such a giving heart is Flatlander . He has on numerous occasions sent me a knife upon finding out I didn't have one of those or had been wanting one for sometime . We have kids in college and I cannot afford many of the knives people post photos of here .
Just this week he sent me a 118 with D2 steel . I don't even own a knife with D2 steel and he suspected and ask . Flat has such a big ole giving heart and takes note of the little guy . Such, I'll always remember and be grateful for friends of his caliber that cross my path in life unexpectedly . I can be having a real "crapper" of a day and one thought of his kindness dims the present gloom and brightens my day . 334 Dave is another !!
300 Bucks is another !! My wife will tell you I look so forward to getting on here to chat with friends, discuss knives and see photos of grand knives they post that she doesn't call me to supper until I'm done looking . My Granddad used to always tell me, son I'd take friends over money any day . I never fully understood what he meant till now . Thank you friends . DM

Well spoken DM-and I know your spot on about the guys on this forum like Flat, 334, 300 and others like Scott Hartman. I remember a new guy to the Buck forum stating he was new and hoped we wouldnt be hard on him. I guess other forums have less than amicable, snobish types waiting to jump on an uninformed question. Thats a shame and I sure am glad this isnt like it. This is my 1st and only forum I participate or even look at. I'd be afraid to venture to others and be very disappointed at what I found.

Thank you Fritz . I've been hammered on some of those "other forums" and can tell you it stings . They make you pay your dues . But here I don't get that so often . Thank goodness . DM

The Buck sub-forum and Traditional sub-forum are about the most relaxed, civilized places I've been.
There are a lot of similarities in the people in both s/f's as well. Down to earth, helpful and giving.
It doesn't matter if a person has one knife or 1,000, they are all treated equally.

People that haven't spent any time in either or both of these s/f's, are really missing out.

The Buck forum is the best because of guys like Plummer Dave,Flatlander and the rest. When it comes to Buck Knives this is great place to see and learn about some great knives.I ordered my 1st custom Buck last week, and later discovered the company has a pretty bad reputation.I should have checked with the collectors on this forum first. Now I'll just cross my fingers and wait.

Dave is a classy kind of a guy, what a fantastic gesture!

This is why I like the Buck forum so much. All of the folks here are wonderful, that is why we are Buck brothers, one & all. Many are also members of the BCCI and I proud to say I am a life member. Not to many forums can say that the knife company folks come to their forum to chat and answer questions, Buck Inc is a one of a kind company.

PDave, I always knew you were a class act, just by talking to you on the phone... I hope to meet you next month in Pasadena... Give me a call so we can arrange to meet up at the show... I would like to thank everyone on this Buck part of the forum for being so kind to me... ... Armand ...

:D As soon as I saw this picture, I was a goner. I'm just a sucker for a pretty face! (that would be Kaylee's, not Kevin's!).

I'm glad everyone likes the knives.

Thanks Dave, I just wish you could have seen her face when she saw her new 444- it was wider than the one in the picture:thumbup:
