Plumpton Park Zoo closes after 24 years

This will probably only matter to those members who live in central MD/central PA and northern DE, if that. Plumpton Park Zoo was a very small zoo, that my family had taken me to for years. I went for the last time several years ago, and was dismayed to see very few animals there. Other than a giraffe trying to eat my hat, most of the animals acted like they were sedated. They were operating on a skeleton crew, in regards to the amount of animals they had. I drove past there on the way home from the ocean last Thursday, saw that a rope was tied across the entrance.

The Plumpton Park Zoo in Rising Sun notice posted on its website saying that "due to conditions beyond our control" the zoo would close.

It is not clear what will happen to the animals at the park. A message left on the zoo's answering machine on Tuesday was not immediately returned.
