Plunge lock?

I have recently gotten the MOD Duane Dieter Mark II and the knife is very loose in the pivot pin and doesn't lock in very well. I am going to return it of course, but I would like to know exactly how does a plunge lock work and where can I got to see diagrams/ schematics of the system? Thanks

Some one correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Plunge Locks the same as the Button Locks on the machined autos?

If so I'll have to take my BM AFO apart and post some pics.

Yes--Same thing as commonly used on autos. Exploded views would be great!
