  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

PM 2 bevel grind

New to the forum and just received my first paramilitary 2. I have had excellent luck with the fit and finish on my other spyderco knives but the new PM 2 is in a class of its own. Except for one aspect. Never had a folder with absolutely 0 blade play first off. This thing is rock solid. The g10 is flawless even the holes for the clip screws have been sanded cleanly on the inside ( something that bothered me with my g10 delica). Centering is perfect and the pivot is superbly smooth. The only problem is the zigzag and patchy look of the bevel grind on the primary edge. Its still sharp and functions but it looks a bit tacky. Its something I can fix with a reprofile so I don't intend on sending it back. Just curious to see if other members have run into this issue.

I should clarify, i understand that spyderco grinds their edges by hand. i have previously only had spydercos with vg10. currently i own a waved endura with a mildly asymmetrical grind, a delica which came with a pretty darn good grind but has since been sharpened beyond recognition and a dragonfly that came with a perfect grind. i guess what im asking would be "is cpm s30v extremely difficult to work with keeping a consistant grind?"
