PM 2 G10 question

Ok, I think I have finally decided on my next knife.

I want to get a Spyderco PM2. I told my wife and daughter they could pick the color combo. They decided on the digital camo G10 with the black blade (out of stock almost everywhere).

I am fine with this color, kinda dig it actually BUT have one concern - every review i see on the PM2 points out how aggressive the G10 checkering is. To me, that is a GOOD thing, I like aggressive checkering (M&P 2.0 compact 9 is awesome). What I need to know is: Will there be any texture difference between the black G10 and the digital camo G10? Or will it just be a different color? Will the camo be as aggressive as the black?

Thanks!

I like the looks of the digital camo
FYI there is is a release later on of brown micarta and cruwear pm2.

Enjoy

No difference in the G10 texture... just the color. And along the entire scale of things, it isn't particularly aggressive. It's "comfortably textured", I would say. There's enough texture so you can feel it, but it isn't as aggressive as Emerson or a couple of other brands do. I don't think your PM 2 will shred your pocket if you carry it clipped. I've never had any trouble with any of mine like that.

The digi-cam series is my fav PM 2 scale pattern, BTW. I think that both the DLC and the satin blades & hardware complement that color pattern very well.

Awesome, I appreciate it guys!

I was guessing they would be the same but didn't want to find out otherwise after buying one.

My AD10 is a little on the smooth side and am looking forward to the added texture.

Mate, it is a grrrrrreat choice! I have two PM2’s. The second one is the one I actually use because the aesthetics of the camo and coated blade are just, well, frigging great. Somehow it is just ideal for that rather aggressive design. No difference whatsoever in the G10. No worries and enjoy!

The g10 on the para is not aggressive at all, feel an Emerson and you'll see what grippy is.

The great thing about the pm2 is that if you want different scales there are a million and one different kinds to choose from. Everyone makes pm2 scales!

I'm not sure I should squeeze this into the (non related) thread, but.....

I can order directly from Spyderco on their "Opfocus(?)" plan for L.E. On their site the Camo/Black is out of stock. The Canis is also out of stock. Crazy part is I am still torn between those two knives. Part of me says let fate decide, whichever is back in stock FIRST is the one I order but I don't know.

One thing that jumped out at me (correct me if I am wrong) - the hole seemed like it would be easier to access on the PM2. The Canis didn't look as bad as the Yojimbo (which is partially blocked) but did not look like it would be as easy to find, in a hurry, as the hole on the PM2. Has anyone else noticed this?

Also, for any of y'all that have a Canis, how is it for cutting steak? I realize it is a task specific knife and will be less efficient (as an EDC) than the PM2 but I am ok with a little sacrifice. I just don't want to give up TOO much edc ability. For example, I carried a Karambit by itself for a while and cutting my food, with it, was a major PITA.

So.... PM2 or Canis. I have a while to decide because both are out of stock.

The PM 2 may be out of stock on Spyderco's web site, but I had a quick look a few minutes ago and A. G. Russell, Sooner State, and Cowboy Knives all show the digi-cam & DLC Para 2 in stock on their sites.

I will check those sites. I did find it in stock at OSO Grande but not for the same price as if I wait for Spyderco.
