PM email glitch

I've lost two knives in the past two weeks because the sellers did not receive my PM messages and sold to another buyer. How can I get this technical glitch corrected?

You could become a paid member, so you could send PMs - they're a much more effective means of communication than the vBulletin email feature.

If the vBulletin email feature doesn't work....why is it there?
 
It works; but it is known to be problematic. A good percentage of the messages make their way to the intended recipients' inboxes, some go to spam...some just seem to disappear. Use of the email system also requires that both participants have the option turned on in their profiles. Many people have it turned off, which compounds the problem of relying on it as a means of contact.

Also, your post indicates that the sellers didn't receive your PMs - you cannot send PMs. Are you perhaps leaving visitor messages on their profile page? That is, in my opinion, the worst option for contact, as those won't be seen unless one is specifically looking for them.
 
Well, thx, I was unaware of those facts. I'll keep it in mind from now on.
 
One other thing to be aware of - I don't know why; but sometimes site generated emails can take 20 minutes (or more) to appear, which can be a problem if you're competing for a purchase.
 
Neither was a minutes count situation. But, the intended recipients NEVER got the messages at all. Anyhow, Thx for the heads up.
