PM2 action problems

Hey all

Recently had a PM2 in S30v swapped to flytanium CF scales. I didn’t do it, sent it off bc if the lanyard hole.
Well got it back and the action is either way to stiff or there is too much blade play. I’ve messed with the lock bar and pivot screws for hours. Contacted spyderco Who basically said they could make any guarantees because it was under warranty, but could take a look for $20.

Any advice, or someone on the forum that services knives like this and can adjust the pivot and lock bar screws and Loctite the screws so that it doesn’t change?

Try this.
1] Loosen all screws on the handle and pivot, do not remove.
2] Over tighten the pivot screw so the blade is locked in place. Try with blade closed 1st)
3] Tighten the handle screws.

4] Loosen the pivot screw till you like the action.

Is there still blade play? If so, start over and at step 2 try blade open, 1/2 closed, etc)
If none of these work, sounds like the new scales aren't flat, holes not aligned properly, or the installer damaged something.
I'm assuming everything was fine before the scale swap?

Yes, stop pin screws are usually the culprit. Get the bladeplay out with the pivot bolt, back off a hair and then mess with the stop pin screws. You should be left with zero blade play and a free hanging blad .

I agree with razor edge knives try loosening the stop pin screws, although I never had the same problem you are on one of my PM2's but on a Manix 2 that I thought was just refusing to break in I found the 2 front screws just above and behind the pivot screws were a bit to tight.

I had the pivot screw's backed out half way and the still wouldn't drop shut then I loosened those screws ad re-loctited them and re-loctited the main pivot and problem solved,I've had the same problem 2 other times with Spyderco knives.
