BLUF: Anyone interested in more PM2 blade shape variants?

Recently the PM2 (my favorite knife pattern) has gotten 2 "new blade types," the sabre ground Emerson opener blade, and the Tanto blade. I bought one of the tantos, and I love it. It seems like these variations have generated a fair amount of interest.

The Wharncliffe Endura/Delica/Dragonfly patterns also seem to have gained a solid foot in the door as possible long time mainstay models. This is different from the development process the new PM2 blade shapes we have seen, which if I understand right are dealer exclusives and the process to create them was initiated by the dealer?

I love the PM2's standard blade shape. Personally I would also be very interested in a wharncliffe PM2. Do new blade shapes on the Para 2 strike a chord of interest with anyone else?

I'll bet it happens. Spyderco seems like they want to wring every ounce of sales they can from the PM2 platform.

As a frequent PM2 user (Cru-wear today) I would be very keen on a Wharncliffe version.

No, it does not. Spyderco has too many other platforms to try new shapes and sizes.
Why change a well received knife that everyone loves? Remember what happened to Coca-Cola when they changed the best selling soft drink in the world?

Good point about other models. One thing I like about Spyderco is the constant release of new and different things.

I don't think that new shapes should be instead of what we currently have, just in addition to the standard. Ina fashion that mirrors the delica family.

Yeah, I think we're starting to see it with the Tanto version, and who knows what's down the road. You know the saying, the only thing that remains constant is change.
I'd like to see different colors offered and not have to chase sprints or dealer exclusives. I'm good with S30V, I just get tired of all the black knives I have.

I think a custom shop option on materials will be better for us as customers than multiplication of exclusive blade shapes that were not originally designed for the PM2
Part of the succès of their platforms is that they have a purpose
Multiplication of blade shapes would, at the end, dilute this purpose

Hard pass on the warncliffe as I need to save for a Yojumbo... Also a little burned out on black g10 like others.

Let's see I have PM2 in Flat Grind, Saber grind emerson and a Tanto Grind. Favorite has been the saber grind with the beefy tip. Got to sucker us customers into something we think is a must have. Really Sal could just make another design completely but that drives up manufacturing. I think these changes drive sales and are not costly to manufacturer or customer.

I love seeing the different blade shapes on the PM2. Makes it like a "mule" of sorts similar to the E4/D4. I have a tanto PM2 that is the first tanto I've been interested in for about a decade. Variety of colors/blade shapes/styles are something I always enjoy seeing, even if I don't purchase that particular model.

And then this happened...

Spyderco C81GPWC2 Para Military 2 - 3.44" CPM-S30V Satin Finish Plain Edge
Wharncliffe Blade - Black G-10 Handle - CUTLERY SHOPPE EXCLUSIVE

This will be awesome when they make it in something other than s30v

I would be interested in seeing more blade shapes on PM2. Unfortunately the recent tanto and wharnie look just too ugly to me. While the wharnie looks to be very useful, the tanto does not.

I ordered a wharnecliffe just to try it out even though it is just S30V steel. I did also just receive a Canis and my wife actually laughed at how it looked :) Really different looking blade for sure but it will be a good comparison to the PM2. Already I can tell the other PM2 I have is smoother with better ergos. Overall I see the different options similar to an above comment that the PM2 is a great steel and blade shape mule for Spyderco.
