I have wanted a PM2 for well over a year and finally got one. I got the factory second M390 that Bento Box offered just so I could brake my safe queen habits. Still dropping it on the driveway *ouch!* and the micro roll on the blade pains me 8). What a sweet knife though!

Ow. No. Stop dropping it.
That's so sweet. Almost makes me miss my blue scales.

If you can get over the price hump, it makes an awesome user. Still costs less than certain highly regarded titanium mid-tech knives - but I like this better.

The only thing I could figure that made it a second was that the lanyard hole rattled until I put the clip next to it. I couldn't imagine using a more expensive knife for etc! This stuff is scary enough 8). I love the blue so much, but I'm thinking it's going to start looking dirty soon. I dig the black ones on the m390! I wish they would make colored scales available for swaps.

They do - you just find the S30V model or sprint one with the scales you like, wait several months for it to become available, swap the scales, and sell the sell the bastard child assembled from the leftovers. :)

I wanted something different, and I love the stuff, so I went with Micarta. Cost as much as a plain-jane model, though, and I have no extra knife to sell.

Actually, I found the blue pretty easy to clean. On the off chance soap and water didn't do it, denatured alcohol did. Luckily the M390 is quite resistant to corrosion, so I'd just blow it out scrubbing it up and wiping it down. Lube the pivot once in a while, too, I guess.

Yay for M390 :D

I used mine fairly heavy when I first got it however now I find myself not wanting to wear it down too much. I would love a second but for the secondary market prices I would rather get a new Sebenza. Blue and black G10 scales in the works for my M390 though, I tell myself I will use it but who am I kidding, it will sit on my my display shelf in the top spot.

LOL there ya go!

I don't know if I could go that high on scales, but more power to you. It looks pimp. I will keep that in mind about the alcohol. Is there much concern for getting water between the scales and liners for rusting? I rinsed it out in the sink because of the m390, but didn't think about the liners 8).

Dang pingz! that thing looks awesome I would be down for those.

Ya know Boom when I got the chip I was thinking about taking it out, but then had the same thought. I'm just going to keep power stropping on a felt belt until there are too many knicks I think. I wouldn't trust myself on this nice of a knife to hit it with low grits on a belt sander yet! :D I can't believe the secondary market on these things! I wish Spyderco could go full production on all the variations.

Pings - that glow is nice!

caution - I'm not sure if the liners are 300- or 400-series stainless. After a year of use and cleaning, when I took mine apart to install the scales, they still looked brand new. YMMV, of course.

Good stuff war brick 8). I've been using knives that rust easy for so long. That's a lot to do with being drawn to the m390 blue beast.

My blue Pm2 has been my main edc since I've gotten it. I'm not afraid to use and even abuse it a little. It still has rock solid lockup and I've only just put a 40 degree micro bevel on it and it's now sharper than ever. I have chipped the blade in two small spots which is why I added the micro bevel. The only thing that has been getting more pocket time than it lately is my HTM Gunhammer which is also in M390.. I'm in love with this steel..
