PM2 Salt

Byork, I was waiting patiently for the all-black PM2 Salt also. In very high demand for good reason. Had an opportunity to handle a Military 2 Salt and jumped all over it. Fantastic knife! Not much larger than PM2. Wonderful example of Spyderco constant quality improvement. M2 Salt is in stock at a few retailers. Military 2 might meet your needs? If you like to modify and tinker with your knives, there is a growing list of M2 aftermarket accessories available. M2 CruCarta in my pocket as I type this. For a bit of inspiration while you shop, third down is Para 3 Salt and last one is M2. Waiting for Para 3 in 15v to arrive. Collecting these Golden Co beauties is addictive. Good luck and enjoy your search…

The military 2 is only seems like a huge knife because the handle is quite big but it is very ergonomic. The blade length is pretty close to perfect. I picked one up and don't regret it, the Magnacut steel is performing even better than I thought. But whatever model you choose it's best to just sign up for email notifications when a seller gets them in stock and be ready to buy right away.

I also have been on the lookout. I’ve only seen them sold in sets on this site and listed on eBay for significant markup.

Anyone have a line on PM2 Salts (black version)? They've been out of stock for months everywhere i've looked
Still no sign of them. But I will say I decided to try the olight duron and for all my high end knives i like it better than my primo USA knives. And admitting that is a tough pill for me to swallow.

They've been floating in and out of stock at places the last week or two.

That said, anyone that's read my posts over the years knows that I can be pretty critical of knives and features, and one of my biggest complaints the recent years is the rampant use of slippery handles. Polished G10 or Micarta, smooth aluminum, titanium, etc. 🤮 A slippery handle knife is a dangerous knife, period.

I was extremely critical of the Shaman handle, it's stupid slippery and tapered at the rear with a heavy blade, it's begging to be dropped/slip out of the hand.

However, I took a chance on the Salt PM2 which showed up this week (all black) and it's the perfect texture, probably the best textured handle I've held in several years on a folder. Reading reviews complaining about how it grips your pocket etc. I was kinda worried it would be too textured, hard on the hand, difficult to get out of a pocket and it's not at all. It's got tons of grip, but it's not harsh like some of the say heavy diamond texture, and the edges are smooth so you don't get hot spots with extended us. To me it's even better than the normal peel ply handles. It will be interesting to see how it holds up over time and if the texture/pores get filled/loaded with junk and it loses it's grip, but for now this is the most excited I've been about a handle material in a decade.

If it was up to me, this handle texture would become a standard for many manufacturers, similar to how peel ply G10 was for a long time. It provides great grip, but doesn't tear up your hands, and is comfy to use for extended periods.

Good job Spyderco! Don't pigeonhole this into just water/marine themes, put this stuff on all the knives!
