They've been floating in and out of stock at places the last week or two.
That said, anyone that's read my posts over the years knows that I can be pretty critical of knives and features, and one of my biggest complaints the recent years is the rampant use of slippery handles. Polished G10 or Micarta, smooth aluminum, titanium, etc.

A slippery handle knife is a dangerous knife, period.
I was extremely critical of the Shaman handle, it's stupid slippery and tapered at the rear with a heavy blade, it's
begging to be dropped/slip out of the hand.
However, I took a chance on the Salt PM2 which showed up this week (all black) and it's the perfect texture, probably the best textured handle I've held in several years on a folder. Reading reviews complaining about how it grips your pocket etc. I was kinda worried it would be too textured, hard on the hand, difficult to get out of a pocket and it's not at all. It's got tons of grip, but it's not harsh like some of the say heavy diamond texture, and the edges are smooth so you don't get hot spots with extended us. To me it's even better than the normal peel ply handles. It will be interesting to see how it holds up over time and if the texture/pores get filled/loaded with junk and it loses it's grip, but for now this is the most excited I've been about a handle material in a decade.
If it was up to me, this handle texture would become a standard for many manufacturers, similar to how peel ply G10 was for a long time. It provides great grip, but doesn't tear up your hands, and is comfy to use for extended periods.
Good job Spyderco! Don't pigeonhole this into just water/marine themes, put this stuff on all the knives!
