PM2 scale filing?

I have been thinking about doing some filing on my PM2 scales. Im a little worried about them being to thin and filing all the way through them. I couldn't find anyone else who had done a PM2 before. What do you guys think?

The G-10 is relatively thin, especially where the nested liners sit. I'm not sure what type of filing you are looking to do, and I don't have my calipers handy to measure the actual thickness. But I would be careful.
