PM2 Ultra

Anyone have one of these?
It’s a fully customized PM2 w/ a Smock Style compression lock release button.

I think I saw someone post a compression lock mod like that somewhere, not sure though. It seems to be fairly simple.

Interesting. In order for the push button to release the lock the Locking liner has to be on the opposite side. So it appears to me they are purchasing the left-handed model and adding the button to that.

Smart idea.

I've seen those, kinda pointless in my opinion as the compression lock works in almost the same manner (no friction and fingers not in the way) and you don't have the risk of accidental disengagement during use.

I don't know, I'd have to fidget with one in person before making a decision. I'm pretty used to the PM2, Para 3 lock so this would probably throw me for a loop.

I find myself digging it. So much so, I had to dig out a PM2 to fondle. I had better stop checking this thread.

I agree with Vendetta, after loving my Smock, I can really see loving this.

I’m with josh on this one. The knife is pretty much perfect as is. Kinda like lambo doors on a civic. Leave it alone there are enough sprint runs and exclusives to pick from.

Button lock FTW! That's a really cool looking mod! I have trouble with the compression lock on the PM3 giving a little pinch every now and then. This would take a great design with a little issue and improve upon it.

As I really enjoy my Smock, I'd probably pick up one of these if the price wasn't too outrageous.

If they can make it so the scales on top don't have a break in them then I think it's good.

The scales don’t have a break in the top and they start out at $225.

Same for me. Never had a pinch from a PM2 but both the PM3 and the Lil' Native like to take a little bite every now and then.
I'm just kind of a sucker for a button lock ever since I tried my first one on a Freeman.

After opening my PM2 a couple times this AM, this seems to be a little more ergonomic and intuitive.
I won't dismiss this mod out of hand.

The buttons used on side opening Auto's are great, but i don't see drilling a hole in the PM2 and adding a button making it a better way to operate the closing of the blade.

My PM2 with it's original system is the smoothest one handed closing knife i have ever owned.
