PM3 LW Clip Has Popped Out Twice…

I spent yesterday mowing and weed whacking some property I own and noticed one side of my clip has popped out from under the screw again. It did this once before and I just loosened the screw and put it back.

I guess I’ll look for a tiny stainless washer and hope the screw is long enough to compensate.

I never did like the way that looked and wondered if anybody else has had this happen?

I've got at least 6-8 lw clips and have never had this happen. Their customer service is very easy to work with, you may want to shoot them an email.

Disregard my post, I misunderstood his post.

Yes, something is not right. I had a dog leash get caught under a wire clip and it bent but never released from the knife. Seems like maybe the screw head is slightly too narrow.

I took mine off once and while it was a pain to get back in properly, once I got it there it's been solid.

Curious .... Never had that happen, and I've been carring a wire clip Spydie for more than two years now. Shoot them a mail, they're sure to help you :)

Its abnormal I'd wager --- I've had pocket clip play, clips that bent out & open, but never separate; +1 vote on emailing them

There is so little holding it.

Kind of strange that that was good enough for spyderco

That’s what I noticed when I first bought it, but thought it must be okay, those get great reviews. However I’m hard on stuff, I’m always working on stuff.

I’m a little concerned the screw caught enough “meat” .

Guess we’ll find out.

Seems like a tolerance stacking issue where the screw, the wire clip, and the handle were each at the far end of specifications. It happens. I'd still contact Spyderco about it and see if they can send you new screws and/or a clip.
