I don't have other Cold Steel products, but I just had to get this one, the single pressed sheet steel handle and bolt type lock intrigued me, plus a very low price did it. It is not a "cheep" knife, very well built, everything works well and smooth(un-locking is a bit hard) though I think it will "work in".
#Carrys well for a big knife (4 1/2" blade"), because of the thin sheet metal handle.
# Lock is very secure, it has a large contact area. To un lock you pull the paracord, then push blade down.
# Blade is stonewashed ++, nice clip point.
# Handle is comfortable.
# It has a clip, not a sheath.
# It cuts well. I use it as a whacker and chopper.

Does pushing the back part of the spine also unlock the blade? EDIT: Nevermind, I saw a review that says you pull it backwards, not like a lockback.
It looks like a pretty nice, affordable, large folder. I might just have to get one.

Any pics down the spine to see the blade/handle thickness?

I would expect this to be fairly tough for a cutlery stainless steel and take a pretty sharp edge. It won't be very abrasion resistant. It seems like a reasonable choice for this type of knife. I would have preferred SK-5 non-stainless as tougher.

I assume you can unlock it without the paracord lanyard.
It is a massive, beefed up Douk-Douk. Cold Steel admits that.

You must be focused to unlock this knife, lock has a long throw, so you/(I) must use the paracord, pull long and hard. A two hand operation.
Opening is also a two hand operation(spring is very strong)...secure!

If you go to New Graham, the latest video shows Mike operating the Bushman lock. It is the second to last knife he shows in the video.

Well, I originally wanted to try one because it's completely my style, but I'm not interested in folders that can't be operated one handed. Bummer.

I revieved mine today. It's built well, came sharp, but I predict it will draw blood of users not very carefull with it at all times, especially closing . With cold hands, greasy hands, or just not being aware, It'll bite and probably bite deep.

I do like it though. Lighter lock release, and SK-5 steel blade, along with something on the handle to increase grip while unlocking would help me. Joe

I got mine today too, and it is really built tough. It is by no means a one hander, so if you're looking for that, look elsewhere. It would be an excellent large folder for those not concerned with quick openings. Very affordable, and easily one of the most solid folders I've handled. I'd honestly say it is just as solid as my small Sebenza, which is easily the most solid feeling folder I've handled. Got a nice thin edge on it too (.020")

Fit and finish is very poor on mine though, so if that matters to you it can be a problem. Mine is ground pretty poorly, such that the blade looks slightly warped. Either that, or it is warped. The edge also meanders a bit. I don't think it'll matter much for a heavy duty folder, but thought I'd point it out.
