Pocket carry knife

I want to try mostly pocket carry mode. Sometimes move to belt.

So from browsing I selected ESEE-3, Spyderco Bill Moran, and Ka-bar 1117. They are mostly 7.5-8 in of OAL.

I had BK-11 and other 6.75 in knife, but they seemed a little but uncomfortably short on handle.

Of course, some kind of BHK or Fiddlebacks would be nice but getting one is really a gambling now.

Actually, I was considering some skeleton/neck knives, Ka-bar 1117 is one of them, also, there are Condor offerings.

So, what do you think about an idea of carrying ESEE-3 blank (naked, without scales) as a pocket carry?

Or if I get a kydex for that, it can be carried as a neck knife as well. More over, I want to try stripped version.

More you go into knives, it seems more you become picky. Probably I should wait some customs at Knivemakers subforum.

For me it'd be too much.

I wouldn't carry a fixed, it wouldn't be legal to conceal where I live either.

I have a number of fixed blades, about three-inch blades, from G.L. Drew on Knifemaker's subforum. Also several Bark River brand. You can find a nice selection of them there; usually with a pocket sheath, but sometimes with a sheath that will be okay for pocket or belt carry. Prices generally a little over one hundred dollars. pics show two by Drew... last one is Mini-Fox River.

By "pocket carry" do you mean deep pocket, no clip? I don't know why you would want to do that with a fixed.

For deep pocket carry for everyday use I've never found anything that a traditional slip joint can't handle. A nice GEC or Northwoods fits the bill just fine. If you plan to be in the field then carry a good fixed.

Check out Some of the silent soldier variations that Jason Brous puts out.

I have the Wharncliffe model. I either pocket carry in the kydex sheath or I carry it in my wallet, in the kydex sheath.
