What's the best pocket carry multi-tool with saw, file, and pliers for a reasonable price.
ABSOLUTELY NO SAK!!!!!!!!!!! No victorinox

Leatherman squirt or micra
Just take a look at those you might like them.
They are small too you can keep it on a keychain if you like.
These won't have a saw tho because they are small...
Hope this helps.

Cheapest one I can think of is the Leatherman Sidekick, although I think the file sucks. The only other pocket-sized tool they make that meets your tool list is the Juice XE6, which costs quite a bit more, has no pocket clip, and may be too heavy/thick for comfortable pocket carry. I hate to say this, but if you write off SAKs, you're pretty much out of luck for pocket carry. There are plenty of quality full-sized Leatherman or Victorinox tools, but those require sheaths or customizing to add a pocket clip.

My only other advice would be to stay away from Gerber tools of any kind.

The OP wanted pliers, which lets out the Micra, and a saw, which lets out both of them.

I suggest the Leatherman super tool 300 it has a saw a file and a really good set of pliers.

I started carrying Micra's on keychain, but quickly found I needed pliers much more that stronger scissors. So the Squirt Ps4 turned out the be my fav. The scissors are usable enough, pliers very usable for their diminutive size. And still small enough to allow a real knife to be carried also.

Great multi-tool, but the OP requested pocket carry. Whatever its excellent qualities, the Super Tool 300 is not that. My vote would be Rebar, a more pocket friendly version of the ST300. That's what I've been carrying lately and it works fine for me. I dangle it into my LF pocket attached by paracord lanyard next to my billfold where it is barely noticeable.

IMO, you're looking for something that doesn't exist.

I think the Juice line is still too big for comfortable pocket carry. The Squirt, Micra and Skeletool are better to carry but don't have the tools.

IME, the Micra, Squirt and Skeletool are your choices for pocket carry. I like the Mirca best.

My solution is to carry a full sized MT in my day pack. I don't need pliers, saw and file in my pocket. I'm happy to go find my pack to get the MT. If I'm donig a job that requires ongoing access to the MT, I carry it in my rear pocket which has a vertical seam sewn into it. Either that, or I use a clip on belt sheath.

IMO, the value of a MT comes into it its own with the pliers and I have big hands.

I carry a Sidekick clipped in my RF pocket. It is a part of my regular EDC along with a fixed blade of my making.

I used to carry a Wave Ti but the tips of the pliers broke off and the screwdriver tools kept falling out and getting lost so it got tossed aside.

I've been real interested in knife making. Since I can't easely get a job yet, what is the bare minimum equiptment I need to start off with. And what equipment and brands would you recommend.

There is one option but I don't know how well it will hold up: the Swiss Tech ST41000. It would appear to be pocketable and meets your other criteria. Despite the name, it's not a Victorinox; it's of Chinese manufacture, hence the price.

I like the juice cs4 only missing a file but has everything else I need, I bought the clip on sheath for the juice series that leatherman sells so I don't have to thread a belt through it. I can just put it on my belt (if im wearing one) or pants on my right side towards my back pocket. when I take the stuff out of my pockets at the end of the day sometimes I forget to take it off because I don't feel it. it's pretty small. And I don't know of any mt smaller than the juice series that has a saw besides some of the SAKS

How bad is the super tool 300 in pocket compared to rebar

Style CS..............1.44oz
Style PS..............1.57oz
Squirt PS4...........1.98oz
Rebar..................6.69oz
Wave..................8.50oz
Super Tool 300.....9.59oz

The Rebar, Wave and Super Tool are best carried on your belt, via pouch\sheath.
