Yes. Lint and pocket crud will render these knives completely useless in very short order. You'll see radical lock failure that will allow your enemies to completely overtake your position, indoctrinate your followers, and violate your women and livestock.

I suggest selling these inferior knives on the cheap and instead arming yourself with several Gil Hibben knives.

It's pretty easy to make a pocket holster. I've made some from common felt material, configured to hold the folder in place and upright:
- Width: Same as pocket width.
- Height: An inch shorter than knife length, leaving an inch exposed for draw.

Fold the felt material, either single- or double-thickness. Cut the dimensions. Stitch the border. Stitch a vertical pocket to keep the folder upright. That's it.

A single 12" square of felt is about 50 cents. Use a stapler to hold things together while you stitch.

Hope this helps!

Dont over oil them and wipe all excess resiude off.

Use the pocket clips when possible and you should not have many problems Mesh.

And as always, ANY time a locking knife is deployed, check the lock up engagement before putting it into hard use.

Peace

I pretty much give mine a rinse each day and lightly oil it every little while. I oil it once the action doesn't feel smooth.

Shhshhh, a secret, i use a q-tip now an then to wipe away residue that will seep from the blade/pin area for about 1-3 days after lubing.

Routine is, if dirty, wash in kitchen dish soap in very hot water, no cold used.

Blow dry with compressed air, check for damages and things not right, like screws loos or other and re-lube and clean, clean and clean excess off.

hahahahahhahhahha !!! :D
I hate when my livestock get violated.

Pocket crud on your folding knives is the result of a lack of maintenance, there is no excuse for that. A lack of maintenance in our steam plant could lead to a catastrophic fatal disaster. The same thing goes for knives. There maybe a situation that calls for quick deployment of your knife, if your knife fails to lock up properly it could mean the difference between life and death. Do yourself and everyone else a favor. Look them over and clean and sharpen them, that way you will know that they work and perform properly. Do do it now not after you log off bladeforums.com:cool:

Most knives will be fairly forgiving with a little pocket lint. As WarRaven stated above, a thorough check before use is good. I regularly clean my knives out, but not too compulsively. A Q-tip and compressed air plus a little WD-40, and you should be good to go.

I guess I could have just quoted all of WarRavens info and saved myself some typing!

Meshmdz, if you are cleaning your knives every day, you should never have a problem.:D

That is next to the sweatiest part on my body.
I tried it for awhile and found that the knife was constantly damp.
Wasn't for me.

YMMV.

smart ass

Da root of da problem is not turning your pockets inside out & brushing da lint away esp. after washing. Been doing this for awhile without da problem!
