Pocket Carrying A Leather Sheath

I've found that I prefer carrying almost all knives at pocket not belt height (when carrying on the strong side). In addition a number of my knives came with nice leather belt sheaths. So my questions are:
To change to a pocket carry would you recommend a new kydex sheath with a clip for the outside of the pocket or carrying the sheath loose in the pocket or modifying the leather sheath to clip in some manner to the pocket or retrain myself to pull it from belt height?
