At toolmonger and edcforums I read about the Pocket Chisel. It looks like a butterfly knife with a chisel blade. It has color coded handles based on how wide the chisel blade is. What I think is cool is that it looks like a pocket knife and is the same size as a pocket knife but it is designed to be held against wood and hit on the back with a hammer. Don't try that with a pocket knife. I have not used it, so I can't say how well it works, but I love the idea. Has anybody here actually used one?

Looks like it might be useful for someone who likes to carry a few tools in his pocket when doing his weekend honey-do chores, but I'm not sure if serious woodworkers will give up their beloved chisels in favor of a pocket tool. Some of those guys treat their chisels better than they treat their wives.

I got a little chuckle at the marketing spiel: "Tired of a dull chisel?" When my chisel is dull I sharpen the darn thing! :D

Mycroftt, I'm hoping for your sake and domestic bliss that the ' guy, chisel wife' remark was either some Freudian slip or typo (i.e. wife instead of knife;) ) We're all pullin' for ya. With regards to the butterfly chisel...I myself can't wait to see the natural next step.....The Tactical Butterfly Balisong Ninja Putty Knife. I'm all over that one like a hen on a june bug.

Im pleased with my two cherries chisels, and I really cant see myself using one of these things.
I'll pass ;-)

Many's the day I've stopped dead in my tracks and thought "Darn! If I only had a chisel right now."

It looks to me like to use that thing you’ve got to lock the handles in the open position, and then hammer them to drive the chisel into the wood. That chisel is only as tough as the two pivot pins holding the handles to the blade. I wouldn’t trust those things to hold up to much real work.

No butterfly gouge? Where's the love?

I think it'd be hilarious to carve big bucks out of random stumps in the forest and watch the hunters' confusion. But then again if I did that, it'd be with a real chisel, so nieah!
