One of my favorite things about pocket clips is the way they start to look after long hours of wear. I'm talking about Spyderco in perticular, but I'm shure it's much the same with many other brands. It gives the knife it'self alot of charecter. On my older spydie I finally just removed the clip and cleaned the whole thing up on a wire wheel. Didn't look half bad. I'd like to hear about any other manufacturers for which this is common place.

If that is one of your favorite things then why did you undo it with the wire wheel?? :D

It brushed up against a random orbital sander and lost all the paint along the spine side of the clip. That kind of sealed it's fate:)

I agree, I like my EDC to look used.

I was just looking at some of my old EDC's in my knife case earlier today and my Spyderco Calypso Junior BM has lost all the black colour from the clip screws , they have a bead blased look about them now.

my new (4 months now) edc is a small regular sebenza and the tip of the clip has now got a polshed edge to it as has edge of the whole of the non clip hanlde slab where it rubs against my shirt during IWB carry. The clip side handle slab shows much less wear- I guess I must have very abrasive shirts :D

What's the point of carrying a knife if you don't use it, it's kinda like my old 64' Chevy Impala convertible, it was old but well used with lots of associated memories. I'd rather have that than my buddies brand new Mustang Convertible, that he has to park a mile from the store, so no one dings his door, or how he's a nervous wreck around people or other cars for fear of a scratch.

Where's the enjoyment in a knife your afraid of ruining, for resale or collector value.

Here's character:
