I have a Buck 110 that is definitely my all-around favorite knife, and I was wondering if it would be possible to attach a pocket clip (tip-up) on the end of the knife, and if anyone on this board has experience with that. I have several other knives with pocket clips, but none that fit my hand as well as the 110. Thanks in advance for any information or ideas.

Sure, quite easy to do actually since the bolsters are brass.

Are you thinking of doing this yourself or having someone do it for you?

All you need is about $25 (supplies), a drill and a tap wrench.

That's something I've considered, but never gotten around to. Let us know if you do it, and how it turns out.

Okay, had a few minutes so I put together a shopping list for you.

The only item you need that's not on this list would be a #53 drill bit, for some reason I could not find one on Texas Knifemakers Supply's web page. You can get one at Sears for about $3.

Thanks! I was wondering what size screws I should use, and if the brass will be hard enough to resist stripping or if I should try to drill and tap all the way into the steel spacer located on the butt of the knife. Thanks again for the help - I will post pics when I get it done.

No problem, just take your time. When the drill bit hits the spacer I would stop and tap the hole, then grind or file the screw down to length.

One thing you want to look out for is the two pins that are in the rear bolster, don't drill through them. If you look closely at the bolster under the light you should be able to see them.

Also, be real slow tapping the hole, it's very easy to break the tap off then you're screwed (no pun intended!).

Good luck :)
