Pocket clip for BK14 ?

Hey everyone, I am hoping for some guidance with my new BK14. I would like to pocket carry my BK14 with the original sheath. I already have a tdi clip attached, however I would really like a plastic(non-scratching) clip that is a little more snug fitting to my pocket material. I normally wear hiking/cargo shorts year round and the material is thin and sometimes slippery. The tdi clip feels like it would be great for jeans but it slides around on my shorts. So, does anyone know of a better clip option?
Thanks,
Bruce

Something to try possibly...A lot of people forgo the clip and just slip the sheath in their pocket. I carry like that as well sometimes. You can still deploy the knife about as quickly too.

Yah it works! Also you can add a "static line" to your belt to keep it in place.

Take a loop of paracord long enough to tie to the top of the sheath, and long enough to loop through its self in your belt. Then put the knife sheath and all in your pocket. This will keep the knife from falling out of your pocket, and it will give the sheath something go hold onto so you can "quickly" draw the knife, and surprisingly it will help keep the knife in place in your pocket.

Been carrying fixies like this for awhile now, its how I carry edc fixed every single day.

Try it out!

I do the same as Iwouldhurtafly, I've found that just having a large knot at the end of the paracord works fine too.

Just tie one end of the cord to the sheath and run the opposite end with the knotted end under the belt. The knot resting on the top of the belt works just fine in retaining the sheath when you are using the knife with the empty sheath dangling outside the pocket.

I know I might just be picky, but I had already tried both just putting it in my pocket and the line up to the belt/loop. It comes down to the sort of crazy fact that I only wear two different types of shorts. In one type the knife and sheath can go all the way down and be completely immersed in my right front pocket, so just tossing it in there is a no go. And the belt loops are in completely different spots between both shorts so if I attach a line to the sheath and run it to a belt loop the line would have to be different (6+inches) for each pair of shorts. Of course if I wore a belt I could just run the line to that, but I normally don't wear a belt.

I was really just hoping there was another clip to try. I am carrying the BK14 with the tdi clip now and may try finding a belt I like wearing, but I really want to try a better clip.

Thanks for the ideas so far and keep them coming,
Bruce

Like tradewater, I have a 24 inside a pocket sheath and do not worry with a tie down or clip.

But if you are really set on a clip, perhaps you can try Nite Ize. They have a stick-on clip that I've heard is pretty reliable, durable and handy.

also they have one that purportedly does great with soft fabrics.

Good luck. Lets us know what you chose as a set-up. And, yea.......pics, or it didn't happen. :D

Hey Iwouldhurtafly,

I think I get it but... Pic?

Sure!

This is with a SYKCO 311, but same principle.

Knife with static line, and sheath...

Looped around belt. You could loop it around a belt loop, add a biner, or whatever... let your imagination run wild. lol

...And in the pocket, just like that. Works like a charm!

And to the OP, there are some aftermarket clip options that you could use... If you dont mind drilling a hole or two in your sheath, you "could" use the spyderco g clip. In the stock configuration it will not work, but again, if you get creative on it, it "could" work. Also I believe Nite Ize makes a clip with a stick on backer that you can glue to almost anything. Its made for cell phones and the alike, but others have used it to add a clip to their BK's might be worth a bit of research and a google query or two! Or heck, order a few Chicago screws and a piece of kydex/bolatron/plastic and go to town making a "custom" belt/pocket clip.

Wanted to add, you could also e-mail some of the kydex benders around here and see if they might be willing to throw something together... Trailbum, 710 Sheaths, and Azwelke to name a few. No promises but just a thought....

Nite ize used to have a pocket clip for phones with double side tape, i used to pocket carry my izula like that, plus you wont have to any damage to your sheath.
