Mounted where? Thing is this. If tip down meaning it would be mounted say for right hand or left hand carry either way doesn't matter. Its likely I'd have to drill a couple holes but not perf through the other side so as to not interfere with any debris or burr on the inside developing that could interfere with the action and smoothness of the blade when opening it. It may work out in time but then again this debris and bur out from the drill bit could be problematic for a long time if not permanent. So, to perf through there on a knife that does not come apart has its risks although there may be some ways to try to clean some of that. Without seeing it I have trouble discerning.
Tip up carry is your best bet for mounting a clip but with a friction folder thats a whole host of other issues with gravity opening risks and all as well as the stem sticking out in the pocket when carrying.
The holes in the back could be all the way through without too much worry. Thus they would have deeper threads than holes by the pivot.
Risks are going to go like this. I've threaded Micarta in the past. In fact I have some with clips on them that have been there for many years. It can work, but you have to follow three simple rules of thumb if you opt for this.
Number one never use loctite or glue of any kind in the threads. Doing so will surely lock them in once but if they ever were even half turned after it sets this could weaken or strip the threads hold and eventually shorten the life of the screw being able to bite and stay tight.
Number two, as a result of the fact that the threads are in Micarta only it is good to not take the clip on or off a lot if at all. Each time you back a screw out and and back in it will weaken and weaken and weaken the threads abilities as you do it. This on top of the risk of cross threading when putting the screws back in, which is easy to do in softer materials makes it such that this is also a possibility to ruin your thread hold.
Number three, when checking for screw tightness be sure they are only snug. They need only be snug to work and be extra coscious of over tweaking it when you mess with them. Over tightening can ruin threads in one second. So beware.
Now, with all that said, so long as you follow these rules of thumb the clip should be good to go. So long at the threads have good bite and hold which they will right after doing them they do hold quite well and in my own tests the clips bent out or broke long before you could lever a screw up. What happened was the screws loosened up a bit and I was able to tighten them back down on most after severely testing them.
Well, thats the gist of it. Can it be done? Yes. There are risks though. Personally due to the gravity opening issue and the risk of the blade point and/or edge working its way out of the pocket in carry or from a fall I'd suggest thinking again about clipping it but your call. Let me know. Thanks
