pocket clip modification question

hey guys, two questions for anyone smarter than me. I have a zt 0300 and a sog vulcan than need moding, I love them except for the pocket clips. The got an extra zt clip with plans to bend it into a fold over style so it will ride deeper but I can't seem to bend it even with a butane torch. Anyone know how to proceed? The sog vulcan already has the bend over clip but it is too long imo, and I'm trying to shorten it. I can easily cut a section out of the middle, see picture below cutting at the yellow lines and then reattaching with the middle portion gone, but how can I reattach the clip section to the attachment section?
