Pocket clip modification...

I wanted to know if all the new sebenzas coming out of Chris's shop now have the cut- out under the pocket clip. I'm thinking of ordering a small sebenza and I wouldn't be using the clip with it, so I would prefer it didn't have the cut-out. For that matter has there been any sebenzas made clipless, no clip insert needed, no cut-out, like the umfaan.

Thanks

Laurent,

The original Sebenza design was clipless, but they added a clip after much customer demand. When they redid the design a clip became standard. The only way to find a truly clipless Sebenza is to find an older model for sale.

All new style Sebenzas coming out of CRK will have the new cutout as well, sorry to say. The “Classic” Sebenza does have a clip, though I am not sure if they will include the cutout in the design.

I've been told that CRK are still sending them out both ways. example.....I got a Large lefty born 02-01-00 that does not have the cut out. A friend got a large righty back in Dec 99 and his has the cut out. Perhaps a call to CRK would answer your question. I've been told soon they will all have the cut out. I prefer no cut out. It is tight on the clothing but a very secure ride. I'd rather replace pants now and then before my beloved Sebie.

My 2 cents worth

Being the inquisitive type, I was curious as to the purpose of the 2 arc shaped cut outs on the locking side of the handle (on the underside of where the cut out for the clip is). Just wondering, since it seems to serve no purpose.
Thanks

I believe that this is to help with the locking bar action. I don't know for sure though if it is to make the bar springier, easier to unlock, or both.

It's only a mistake if you fail to learn from it!

I was told that the cut-outs are necessary or the titanium at full thickness, the whole length, would make the knife very difficult to close.
