Pocket Clip Multi-Tool?

I am reposting to this forum after posting in the General Discussion Forum and being prompted to this one.
I am looking for a new Multi-Tool, specifically one that will clip to my pants pocket. Being able to open the knife blade one handed would also be a big plus. This tool is for work (I work in a Nuclear Plant) so I need to take into account that it could potentially become contaminated and not allowed out of the RCA (though I have not lost any personal tools in the 6+ years that I have worked here). I have a Leatherman Supertool and a couple of Gerbers and have no real preference (though I have damaged cutting jaws on the Gerbers cutting locking tabs), but they are too awkward to carry without a pouch (and do not have a pocket clip). Suggestions on which model and why it is preferable will be greatly appreciated.

I have to throw in the Spyderco Spyderench. They haven't been made in years and were only made for a short time and are expensive as hell on eBay, but I just have to mention it.

You would most likely be much better served by the Leatherman, but how can I let somebody say "pocket clip" and not bring up a Spydie? :D

You can add a pocket clip on the following Leatherman's:
1. Both Charge Models (Ti & Xti)
2. New Edition Wave
3. Surge (The heaviest of all 4, but my favorite)

Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps.

N_S,

I've also carried the new LM Wave on a clip for over a year (I found it more discrete than a belt sheath in my white-collar environment). With jeans, it's not big deal; with some slacks or khaki pants, you might find that the Wave hangs low enough on your thigh that you get a 'pendulum.' Still, it's a great tool.

If you search on eBay and don't need as many gadgets, the LM Sideclip (basically a clone of the original LM tool) sometimes comes up for bid. Also, the still-in-stores LM Kick has an optional pocket clip available, but I've heard the Kick clip is not as reliable as the Wave/Charge/Surge clips. The Kick clip is screwed in while the Wave et. al. clips are, well, clipped in with a nifty retaining system.

Another vote for the Wave. I enjoy mine. The pocket clip lets it sit right in the corner of my right front pocket. You should be able to get one for under $50 and the clip/lanyard attachments for another $6. You might post in the WTB section as well, you never know who might have one to sell.
