Pocket clip on SAK

I am thinking about installing a clip on a one-hand opening SAK.

I love this knife as a travel tool (as long as I have some checked luggage). It has served me very well in several situations, and is a nice unobtrusive size and style that makes it more universal than many of the knives I carry for work or around my home. I used to keep it on a lanyard with a clip to a belt loop, but would like try it with a pocket clip.

I have the clip (older KnifeKits foldover deep pocket type) I would like to use, and have roughly marked where I think it would work best.

I was going to try it myself, but I have seen several versions posted on here in the past, and was wondering if someone would like to point me to a person with the skills to tackle such a task.

Makes more sense to me to let someone who has done it before do it. I don’t work with small taps very often, and don’t have the small screws handy.

So, who do you recommend?

Thanks,
Brome

I have the Nite-Ize clip on my phone. It works great. There's no reason that it shouldn't work just as well on a OHT. I'm expecting two more of the clips for Christmas. One is for a Vic Spirit. The other may go on a OHT. It may go on another knife. Not sure yet.

On a goof, I did this one several years ago, with small self-tapping screws and a clip scavenged off of a cheap folder.

I put the screws into the handle material, then backed them out and put JB Weld on the threads and put them back into the handle material and let them set for 24 hours.

Kinda permanent and a few folks felt it wouldn't hold, but it's been several years and it's never come off yet.

I was thinking of asking the same question.

I would put a niteize clip on my phone. that's an awesome use.

I'd like to know if there's a preferred attachment point, things to avoid when using screws on alox.

Those Nite Ize eCLIPse clips only attach with a bit of 3M VHB. You can get a roll of that. I bet by spreading the load with that you stand less chance of a SAK scale cracking than you do by localizing the load with screws.

i use this handy little clip on my larger sak's
