Pocket clip position on flipper

I’m sitting here breaking in my new zt 808blk and gripping the knife in all different positions. It got me wondering if it would draw from my front right pocket better if the clip was on the show side.
Maybe because this knife is smaller than Im used to but it seems like drawing the knife that way puts it in a better position in your hand to flip it.
Anyone else try this? I know there may be a safety issue carrying the knife that way, tip up and the flipper tab again the pocket, but the detent is pretty strong.

Sorry to not answer your question... but every flipper I've had, especially with assisted opening, that I didn't have the spine of the knife against my pocket, opened in my pocket at some point.
Thank God it only cut up my pants... YMMV I'm HVAC guy so I'm surrounded by crap to catch my knife on.
I've also snapped any clip that wasn't titanium at some point catching it on corners and other random things. Maybe I need to be more careful, but yeah I'd strongly advise keeping the spine against the pocket where it basically can't open.

Everyone has his own tricks
It really depends on your body language
I just tried what you describe and it works but not better for me that the standard position

Actually on some of my knives I prefer tip up rather than tip down... the broader is a knife the better I like it tip down
.

Sometime I like right front pocket, sometime right back pocket

For some tactical training I tested my 0630 in the left back pocket and it was good for me

IMO there is no one rule, just feelings and body tricks

If it works for you, that is great

I think all makers of assisted openers should put holes on both sides of the knife for the pocket clip - some of us are lefties; but most all makers assume everyone is right handed.

Tip up, spine to the rear, against back of pocket is how I prefer to carry all clipped knives. Easier for me to deploy and prevents accidental opening due to snags, etc.
YMMV

Tip up with the spine against my pocket seam is how I carry all my knives so when I deploy it the flipper meets my index finger. I have a knife or two with weak detentents that I can get to open by dragging the thumb stud against my pocket seam. They act like an Emerson wave. It's fun to experiment and find out what works best for you and practice makes perfect:thumbsup:
